This hot-colored annual is a colorful, low-maintenance addition to full sun containers, mixed beds and borders. It flowers early, about 50 days from sowing, and continues to produce a generous bloom display all season long. The densely branched plants maintain their 20 inch height and 16 inch width, even at full maturity. Flower spikes are lined with half-inch bright red florets that are magnets for hummingbirds. As an added bonus, goldfinches swarm the plants for seeds, making this a must-have for the bird lover's garden. Dark green foliage stays attractive, too, and the plants are nearly impervious to both wind and rain.
